🚗 Car Parking
There are plenty of parking spaces available, including 4 Blue Badge parking spaces located close to the main entrance.
Parking is free.
♿ Outside Access (Main Entrance)
The car park and the route to the Centre is flat, with a gentle incline toward the main entrance depending on where you park.
Access to the Centre is through a motorised door, with an ‘open’ button to the right of the exterior door. Inside the hall, there is a button to the left of the door as you leave.
🏛️ Inside The Centre
We are fully step-free. The doorways are wide enough to allow regular-sized wheelchairs through, and there is an alternate entrance into the Centre for those with wider wheelchairs etc.
🚽 Toilets
Within the Frank Hutchings Community Hall there are male and female toilets available. There is also a dedicated disabled toilet directly outside the entrance to the Centre; a RADAR key is not required for access.
🦽 Mobility aids
We have two Move-Assist Transfer Units for those who require help moving from machine to machine; the user can either sit or stand on it and is moved around by someone accompanying you.
We also have manual wheelchairs and walking frames available which can be used for getting from your vehicle into the Centre and vice versa.
All gym staff and volunteers are trained in Manual Handling and First Aid for emergency situations only. If a client is unable to safely enter the Centre, move between machines, or transfer on and off equipment independently, they must be always accompanied by a responsible adult.
Our top priority is safety. We supervise, observe, and offer guidance on technique and posture. However, we do not provide regular one-to-one assistance.
If your support needs exceed what we can safely provide, we regret that our gym may not be suitable for you.
