Power-Assisted Exercise

Our power-assisted exercise equipment accommodates people who are unable to attend conventional gyms. These machines simulate everyday activities such as getting up from an armchair, securing a seatbelt and walking up stairs. They allow our clients to put in as much or as little physical effort as they wish, whilst helping to maintain and strengthen their muscles which helps to prevent or delay further deterioration in muscle function. A screen beside each machine provides details on physical effort level and allows the client to change the speed of the exercise program.

Additional equipment includes powered cycling machines which can be used from a wheelchair if needed, a treadmill to build confidence in walking, a multibed for taking exercise lying down, a relaxer for kick-starting the metabolic process after a workout, and a balance plate for working on strengthening your centre of gravity.

Machines can be adapted to accommodate different physical requirements. Gym staff are always on-hand to provide advice & support in our safe, relaxed and friendly environment. For more on our commitment to accessibility, see here.
