Recap: Evening of Festive Fun 2025

A warm welcome from Santa for Thatcham Mayor Petra Pemberton got the Christmas season off to a flying start at West Berkshire Therapy Centre's ‘Evening of Festive Fun’ event on Saturday 6th December.

Around 60 guests attended the evening at Harts Hill Road, and enjoyed a variety of activities alongside a buffet tea.

The event raised over £3,000 for our Centre which is an incredible achievement. We are reliant on donations from clients and supporters to provide our unique power-assisted exercise therapy service to the local community. We are not part of, or assisted by, the NHS or West Berkshire Council.

The work of our Centre has been further supported in recent weeks by a number of generous donations totalling over £7,000, including from Tesco via 'customer choice' tokens collection at Hungerford; Cold Ash Parish Council; Greenham Parish Council; and the Gerald Palmer Eling Trust which has also pledged support for the next two years.

Prizes for the raffle included a considerable number of hampers containing donated goods from our clients and their families. Prizes for the bingo featured vouchers and gifts provided by local businesses… among them: Kennet & Avon Canal Trust, Arlington Arts, Whitchurch Silk Mill, The Ugly Duckling, Sandford Springs, Joanna Bojarska Beauty Therapy and Highclere Castle. The home-made Bake Sale and Tombola proved to be successful fund-raisers as well.

This event was organised by our volunteers team.

We would like to thank Louise from Fair Close Centre for allowing us to borrow their bingo machine, Thatcham Town Council for allowing us to borrow their speaker and microphone, and Graham at the Piano for performing.

The online JustGiving fundraiser campaign will be active until 14th December. If you’d still like to donate, you can do so here:
